Before resuming the Superintendent role, Bayer served as the Deputy Superintendent and the Associate Superintendent at GBAPS from December 2016 to July 2020. As a Subject Matter Expert, Bayer serves as a Strategic Advisor to KEES on projects where her public education and administration expertise can be maximized. Her journey with the district began in 2013 when she joined as an associate principal at Lombardi Middle School in Green Bay, WI. With over 32 years of experience in education, she has fulfilled various roles including classroom teacher, department chair, and program coordinator. Her passion for public education stems from recognizing at a young age the opportunities that public education offers all children, regardless of factors of privilege.

She is dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to and receive a quality education. She works daily with elected school board leaders to make decisions that impact academic outcomes and address operations and facilities needs in a fiscally responsible manner. The partnership she forms with elected officials allows the leaders to work as a team to tackle difficult issues facing K-12 educators and communities today.

Additionally, she holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh, WI.  She serves on the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Brown County United Way Executive Board of Directors, Achieve Brown County Board of Directors, and is a Council Member of the State Superintendent’s Advisory Council for AODA Programs.
